2016 outlook

Posted by joe on January 23, 2016

I had a decent 2015 as far as fishing went. I took my small club AOY, I took big bass of the season with my weekly club, and I placed 22nd in the FLW BFL Michigan division as a co-angler, and fished in the BFL Regional on the Potomac River. I also caught a 5 lb. 1 oz. small mouth on Lake St. Clair.

For 2016 I am planning on fishing all the same clubs and possibly adding another night onto the schedule. I will set some goals, like to catch 15 pound bag in a least 1 on my local tournaments. My goal for the FLW BFL is to win the points for the season. This will be very difficult to accomplish, but I feel I need to set my sights high. I would probably need to end up in the top ten in order to pull this off. Locally I need to practice more, make sure I keep myself from defining insanity. Do you know what definition I mean? Many times I catch myself, and maybe you can feel the same way, doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results. In other words, we keep doing the same thing and don’t catch the bass that we need to win the tournament. When things are not going well, I need to change things up, whether it is change to another spot, change depth, and/or change lures or colors. I really want to up my game, learn and exponentially to improve my fishing capabilities. I want to really be known for winning bass tournaments.
